SPECIAL CELEBRITY CO-HOSTS:
WKBW CHANNEL 7's
Ed Drantch and Katie Morse!
The backdrop of this year’s GLYS GAYLA 10-20-2020 is a little different from last year. There have been unprecedented world and local events that have begun to re-shape our approach to wellness and fairness in the world. While we all have struggled with a successful response to the COVID-19 pandemic and the scourge of racism in our society, transgender women of color have remained the most-abused and murdered group in the nation. On the 51st anniversary of the Stonewall riots, pride month in June seemed to have been preempted by the social upheaval that has played itself out in the past year.
WE NEED YOU NOW MORE THAN EVER!
The GLYS GAYLA 10-20-2020 will take place on Zoom and on Facebook, with the addition of smaller group gatherings in homes and other locations across Western New York. The extent of personal interaction this year will depend on where we are in the COVID-19 pandemic.
If you are not able to support GLYS due to the effects of the economic shut-down, we understand and will continue to recognize our past supporters!
What Should I Expect Attending the Event?
The first paid half-hour of the event will include special addresses from Board and Staff, Honorees and more. When you send in to be a paid Zoom attendee, you will be entered into a drawing for a free case of wine! Once attendees arrive at the Zoom "door" their name will be entered again to win another case of wine.
The last hour will provide a host of entertainment and recognition of sponsors and attendees who will have the chance to say a few words to the Facebook audience.
There will be an auction this year which will run from before to during the event and ending just before the end of the GAYLA. We hope to have many unique and fabulous items!
