Drop-In Center FAQ:
Is there a cost to participate?
There is no cost to participate, simply show up during the hours above, and you can take part in the activities we have scheduled for that day, or just speak with one of our youth mentors who are available during the time.
What do I do when I get there?
When you arrive, come on in! If the door is locked, push the buzzer at the door (located on the side of the building), and you'll be let in. Once you enter, if this is your first time you'll be introduced to some of the GLYS staff, have a tour of the center and offices, and be asked to fill in a small form with some basic information. GLYS is partially funded through grants, that ask us to keep track of who we engage with. Your information is strictly for that purpose, and you never have to answer any question you're uncomfortable with.
Can I bring my parents/guardian/caretaker?
Of course! Your parent, guardian, social worker or counselor are welcome to come in with you to tour the Center.
How do I know what's going on in the center?
You can download the monthly calendar from the main page!
Do you ever close unexpectedly?
There are times due to sickness, emergency or due to other issues that the drop in center hours may need to be cancelled. You can watch our website and social media where we will announce this. It's always prudent to check these sources before you stop down, or give us a call at 716-855-0221 to confirm!
