Diversity Prom

Every year at the end of the school year, GLYS of WNY hosts our Diversity Prom. Easily one of highlights of the year, GLYS prepares a venue at an incredible location where young people of all different backgrounds are able to attend with the date of their choice to dance and experience community and acceptance. Music, refreshments, and a photo booth creates a memorable prom experience in a safe and secure environment.

Due to COVID-19 complications, this year's in person prom had to be canceled. However, GLYS believes that LGBTQ+ youth deserve a chance to be celebrated and should not miss out on an event as fun as prom... so GLYS is announcing our very first ever VIRTUAL DIVERSITY PROM!

Our virtual prom will be on Friday, August 21st from 7:00 - 9:00 pm via Zoom. This date aligns with the rest of Buffalo's rescheduled Pride Week events -- for more information on those other events please refer to the Buffalo Pride Week website (www.buffaloprideweek.com)!

To RSVP for this year's Diveristy Prom please email reception@glyswny.org and you will receive the zoom link you need to enter the event. Once you RSVP you will automatically be placed in a drawing to win a Tim Hortons gift card!

This event will be chaperoned. just as it would have been in person, to ensure the safety and comfort of all our youth.

This year's Diversity Prom is co-sponsored by the Imperial Court of Buffalo (ICOB)! Members of the ICOB will be in attendance for drag performances!

Song requests can be made prior to the event by clicking here!

For any more questions or information you can reach a member of GLYS staff by phone during our office hours -- refer to homepage for that information -- or via email (dropincenter@glyswny.org, stournour@glyswny.org, or reception@glyswny.org) at any time.
