LGBT SCHOLARSHIPS & Other Info OFFERED FROM OUTSIDE OF WNY
The Richard L. Schlegel Legion of Honor Award for Emerging Activist is administered by the Center for Diversity & Inclusion at American University in Washington, D.C. It recognizes a young individual (in high school or an undergraduate in college) who is living in the United States who has made outstanding contributions to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) communities. The recipient of this award will receive a cash award, travel expenses for attending the Annual LGBTQ Studies Symposium on November 16th, 2013, and a plaque commemorating the award.

Traub-Dicker Rainbow Scholarship for Lesbians – Founded by Peggy Traub and Phyllis Dicker, the Traub-Dicker Rainbow Scholarship is awarded is to women all over the United States who demonstrate leadership, academic achievement, and an interest in social change. Typically, several winners are chosen each year and awarded scholarships ranging from $1,000 to $3,000.
